Ukulele School and Tips for Beginners

Your First Riff on Ukelele

The Singles Notes

While the guitar with its six strings is a polyphonic instrument, in the ukulele the sounds of the notes remain separate without overlapping. If we cannot achieve similar sounds in stumming, but by playing single notes (which is easier in the ukelele) we will be able to compensate with simple fingerpicking the limits of the instrument with pleasant riff Lets now give to our blues a bit of moving with a series of simple notes that will introduce us to blues scales and a little fingerpicking.
Four simple notes to then play the G chord we know.

Second Half

The second step is the completion of the first passage, back on the same notes.
And we are ready to play the riff and the chords of our blues: after the G, the C7 and D7 chords.

Play and get fun

Now pratice your blues and add your feeling and your skill mixing the four single notes, and the chords. By playing the various riffs that you can improvise it will not be necessary to return to the G chord, but you will be able to obtain valid alternatives by returning to the other chords studied. As well you can mix the singles notes given and find variations on this little riff.

Tip: You can include in your riff the C single note played of the third chord free.
